Galvanic zinc coatings were applied to steel fuel filters using alkaline and acid zinc solutions. Testing revealed white corrosion occurred after 168 hours on alkaline coatings versus 240 hours on acid samples. Electrochemical analysis determined corrosion potentials and rates through Tafel diagrams and cyclic voltammetry.Downloads
