Toxic compounds in homemade spirits in Bosnia and Herzegovina: A pilot study

Fifteen samples across 8 fruit spirit varieties were tested for harmful substances. Results showed hydrocyanic acid was higher than the maximum permissible level in 5 out of 15 samples. Methanol concentrations averaged higher in Bosnian samples compared to reference values, while urea was detected in all analyzed samples at ranges between 5.8-77.8 mg/L.Downloads
