Abstract

Nine metals (Ca, Cd, Cu, Fe, Mg, Mn, Zn, Ni and Pb) in raw and pasteurized milk of cow, sheep and goat were determined by atomic absorption spectrometry using the flame technique. Cd, Fe, Mn, Ni and Pb were below the detection limit across the analyzed samples. The highest content of Ca and Mg was found in goat milk, while metal concentrations followed the pattern Ca>Mg>Zn>Cu. Correlation analysis revealed significant relationships between certain metal pairs and milk fat content. Despite regular milk consumption of 200 mL daily, the quantities of the determined elements did not meet recommended daily requirements, with calcium intake being most substantial.
