Influence of chloride ions on various corrosion resistance of Zinc coating
Abstract
Corrosion causes significant material loss and economic damage globally. This research investigated chloride ion effects on galvanic zinc coating properties including corrosion resistance, influence of varying chloride concentrations, and performance of different coating thicknesses. Testing examined galvanically deposited zinc from multiple technologies including warm and galvanic processes. All testing used potentiostat/galvanostat Model 263A with potentiodynamic and linear polarization methods. Results demonstrated that despite the costs the corrosion protection is the most effective way to prevent material loss.Downloads
