Influence of Delta Ferrite Content on Corrosion Behavior of Austenitic Stainless Steel Nitronic 60

Abstract

Electrochemical corrosion testing using potentiostat methodology in 0.9% NaCl solution was performed on austenitic stainless steel Nitronic 60 samples with varying delta ferrite content. Results indicated that both general and pitting corrosion intensity increased with higher delta ferrite content.
