Experimental and theoretical study of Aspartic acid

Experimental spectroscopy and quantum chemical calculations were combined to investigate the structure of aspartic acid. Results suggest the need for the dielectric environment in order to stabilize the zwitterionic structure of a single molecule, with hydrogen bonding networks between molecules stabilizing this ionic form.Downloads
