Abstract

Research involving 51 participants examined relationships between serum iron levels and lipid profiles in Type 2 Diabetes. Diabetic patients exhibited elevated serum iron compared to healthy controls. Significant positive correlation existed between iron concentration and LDL cholesterol, while negative correlation appeared with HDL cholesterol. These findings indicate elevated serum iron may contribute to disease development and lipid metabolism dysfunction in diabetes.
