Abstract

Eight Lamiaceae species were analyzed for triterpene compounds using TLC and HPLC methods, identifying betulin, betulinic acid, ursolic acid, and oleanolic acid. Rosmarinus officinalis contained highest betulin and betulinic acid levels, while Thymus pulegioides showed maximum ursolic acid concentration. All samples demonstrated concentration-dependent DPPH scavenging activity, with IC50 values ranging from 0.4 to 3.3 mg/mL.
