Abstract

Heavy metal concentrations were measured in fish species from four Neretva River hydro-accumulations used in different diets. Iron (Fe) was the highest accumulating metal in fish, while cadmium (Cd) and lead (Pb) showed the lowest accumulation levels. Health risk assessment concluded that none of the measured metal concentrations posed a risk to human consumers.
