Determination of phenolic content and antioxidant properties of methanolic extracts from Viscum album ssp. album Beck.
Abstract
Mistletoe extracts from four different host species were analyzed for phenolic compounds and antioxidant activity. Total phenols were in range 7.02-13.52 mg GAE/g DW, flavonoids 2.29-5.05 mg RE/g DW. Flavonoids and proanthocyanidins concentrations were higher in leaves than stems. Mistletoe from Robina pseudoacacia demonstrated strongest antioxidant activity across DPPH, ABTS, and FRAP methods, with strong correlations observed between phenolic content and antioxidant capacity.Downloads
